Wedding FAQ

Below are some wedding related frequently asked questions, or FAQ, from newly engaged couples and their friends and family members!

Q: I just got engaged! When should I speak to a florist about wedding flowers?

A: Before we get into that...Congratulations! Typically florists like to talk with newly engaged couples once they've decided on and booked their wedding venue. If you're newly engaged, you'll want to book your venue ASAP; before someone else gets that gorgeous spot! Once you've done that, you can spend some time looking on Pinterest or Google for wedding designs that fit your style and color palette. We typically like to speak with you for a floral consultation about a year before your wedding date, or for shorter engagements, as soon as you pick your venue.

Q: Does the consultation cost anything?

ANope! Your first consultation is complimentary if it stays under an hour! If your consultation does run over an hour we will sometimes request a $40 consultation deposit. Call the shop at (208)323-7738 for more information!

Q: How long do floral consultations last?

A: Most floral consultations last around an hour, but can be shorter or longer than that depending on your wedding needs! You might want to spend some time organizing your pinterest boards by category (like "bridal bouquet" or "centerpieces") before coming to the consultation so you can find them easier while you are here with us.

Q: Do I need to schedule a consultation to order wedding flowers or can I order over the phone?

A: You can order wedding flowers over the phone or in person at the shop and if you have time, we can do a quick consultation with you while you are here!

Q: We either waited to order flowers until we had other pricey wedding essentials figured out or its a really short engagement. Can I still order wedding flowers?

A: Absolutely! If the big day is within 4 (four) weeks of you ordering or less than $200 (two hundred dollars), we do request full payment once we confirm everything you need.

Q: We've decided on a Justice of the Peace wedding! Do we still need flowers?

A: Congratulations! Whether its a courthouse, backyard or intimate "friends and family only" kind of wedding, we love seeing people with flowers! We can even do same-day pick up or delivery of your bridal bouquet. If doing same day pick up or delivery, you can specify colors, but you'll need to be flexible with the flowers, since we will design it with what we have available at the shop. Call the shop at (208)323-7738 or stop in and our helpful designers can create something beautiful for you!

Q: How much is the deposit for wedding flowers?

A: Your wedding flower deposit it 30% of the quoted overall price for your items. After the consultation is completed, we compile all your wants and needs into a quote and send it to you via email so you can look it over and make changes if needed. If you would like to book us for your wedding flowers, we can collect the deposit and apply it towards your order total over the phone or in person with a credit/debit card or cash, but we do not accept personal checks

Q: What is the average cost for wedding flowers?

A: The average cost of flowers for Idaho weddings is between $1200 and $2400, but it all depends on the flower choices and overall needs. Smaller weddings or elopements typically average around $700-$1000 for the wedding party flowers.

Q: I want a Pinterest style wedding, but I don't have a huge budget for flowers. What can I do to get that beautiful floral wedding?

A: We know how gorgeous some of these Pinterest wedding pictures can be, but they never tell you the pricetag. Some of the flowers or items in the pictures may not be available or may be too pricey to fit in your budget; don't worry! We can suggest flowers in the similar color palette that will help get you that full flowery wedding look.

Q: Can I get flower and greenery bunches to do things myself?

A: You certainly can! We can order in whole bunches of flowers for you if you are a DIY-er, or want to try and cut the costs down a little. We still want to schedule a consultation with you to make sure the quantities of bunches fit your needs.

Q: Can I bring in pictures of what style I like for my bridal bouquet?

A: Absolutely! We love it when brides bring in pictures so that we can get an idea of your style and colors.

Q: What do I need to bring with me to the consultation?

A: You should bring with you, an idea of your flower budget, color palettes or swatches, list of items you need (like centerpieces, bridesmaids bouquets, parent corsage and boutonnieres, arch pieces, etc) and pictures of the style or colors you like.

Q: Can I bring my fiance and family with me to the consultation?

A: Of course! We always suggest bringing at least one person with you; but keep in mind our consultation room seats three guests.

Q: What if I don't know what kind of flowers or style I want for my wedding?

A: That's part of the consultation process and we can walk through the types of flowers available during your wedding date! Make sure to bring pictures or at the very least, have an idea of colors so we can suggest flowers and styles with you.

Q: Do couples still do full-service weddings?

A: Yes they are still done! A full-service wedding, in regards to flowers, has the florist setting up centerpieces, placing and pinning corsages and boutonnieres, freshening up the bridal bouquet during pictures and setting up and tearing down the alter or arch pieces and centerpieces. Depending on your needs these charges may vary.

Q: If I change my mind about some of the flowers after I put down my deposit, can I change my order?

A: You sure can! We can change anything on your order, whether it be flower types or colors of flowers, up until 3 weeks prior to your wedding date; when the final payment for your wedding order is due.

Q: Can I make multiple smaller payments for my wedding flowers or do I need to pay the remaining amount on one charge?

A: Absolutely! We encourage couples to pay in smaller payments over the course of their engagement once the 30% deposit is put down, but if you prefer, you can also pay the remainder of your balance in one charge.

Q: Can I see my centerpieces or other wedding items before my wedding?

A: We can definitely do a staging of your centerpieces, at an additional cost of your quoted centerpiece price plus $25.00, which will then be yours to take home! Other specialty items like your bridal bouquet or arch pieces can be created at their full price and additional costs will apply, but vary depending on flower types, design, etc.

Q: If I have a themed wedding, will I be able to get customized items to match my theme?

A: You better believe it! We have created a number of themed weddings, from the more traditional romantic or garden theme, to a tropical Hawaiian theme and even a prehistoric wedding (yup, this bride and groom had dinosaurs)!
